Presentation of the Disposal of Highly Radioactive Waste in Deep Boreholes Study

From 2 to 6 December 2024, we participated at the IAEA Conference: Enhancing Nuclear Safety and Security Through Technical and Scientific Support Organizations (TSOs): Challenges and Opportunities in a Rapidly Changing World in Vienna. The EIMV is also a member of the SITEX. Network, which at one of its sessions, presented its work over the past period, which includes activities on the preparation of studies investigating the latest approaches to address radioactive waste disposal and on the comparison of approaches in the preparation of safety assessment expert opinions for radioactive waste disposal sites. Dr Nadja Železnik, expert in the field of radioactive waste and nuclear technologies, participated in the event with a presentation of a study on the disposal of high-level radioactive waste in deep boreholes.
