Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute and Smart Com d.o.o. invite to the first international hackathon "HackElect".

From 7 to 8 October 2017, the Faculty of Computer and Information Science will host a two-day competition of creative individuals who think outside the box, i.e. with the purpose of finding innovative solutions in the field of electric power and smart grid technologies.

In 48 hours, individuals and teams from various countries will use their innovative approaches, solutions and ideas to cope with the challenges in the field of electric power and smart grid technologies. The event will host students of computer, information science, energy, law, biology, international relations and other studies. The event will also be open for all enthusiasts who are interested in such topics and events. At HackElect, participants will be able to develop advanced solutions, create new products and present their skills within the scope of five thematic challenges:

- thermography and imaging;
- lighting monitoring on Scalar Web and mobile application;
- Scalar - the development of backup system;
- predicting patterns in IP networks of the internet;
- analytics of smart meters data.


The best three teams will receive awards in a total of EUR 10,000. Those who will show special skills, will also get opportunities for employment.
