10. Oct, 2019

"Electric engineers for smart grids – the challenges and needs in education" is the title of the workshop, attended by our electric engineers, Aleksandar Momirovski, Leon Maruša and Klemen Jevnikar. The interactive presentation focused on key highlights in smart grids development trends, the knowledge and skills that young engineers must possess in the dynamic modern industry, the opportunities to change and adapt faculty education programme with the purpose of connecting industry with faculties, on the theoretical and practical levels (e.g. collaboration of students with the industry, i.e. by preparing project tasks, learning about industry tools etc.) and interdisciplinary cooperation between the electric technology field (energy sector, automatics, telecommunications, robotics) and other sciences like economics, programming, chemistry, mathematics, physics etc. Besides the productive discussion and networking of experts in leading companies in smart grids sector we also presented our experience and current work at the Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute.
