EIMV tests 110 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear installation with 21 fields in one of the largest copper mines

16, Feb, 2023

In early February, engineers from the Milan Vidmar Electric Power Research Institute carried out a very important major project in Bor, Serbia, to test the 110 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear installation BOR 5 with 21 fields.
Voltage testing, partial discharge (PD) measurements and phase sequence testing were carried out. The newly tested 110 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear BOR 5 is designed to reinforce the power supply for the extension of one of the largest copper mines in Europe, which opened in 1903.
Our scientific research approach and state-of-the-art mobile equipment enable reliable testing according to internationally standardised procedures to verify that the equipment is ready for reliable operation on the power grid.
