EIMV expert meeting with a lecture on new developments in liquid insulating materials

On 18 March 2024, an expert meeting was held in Bled with a lecture on innovations in the field of liquid insulating materials and a presentation of activities in the study committees SIST ETR and SIST TPD, CIGRE A2/D1 and IEC TC10/14. At the event, which was organised by the EIMV in cooperation with Ergon and the Slovenian National Institute for Standardisation (SIST), Prof. Dr. Bruce Pahlavanpour, former long-time chairman of IEC TC 10 - Fluids for electrotechnical applications, gave an interesting lecture on the trends and future of liquid insulating materials used in high-voltage devices.

The hosted lecture was followed by a presentation by Mr Klaus Cichocki from Ergon, in which he presented the advantages of Hyvolt's high quality mineral insulating oils. The meeting also featured presentations on the activities of the technical and study committees SIST/TC ETR - Power Transformers and SIST/TC TPD - Liquid and Gaseous Dielectrics (Uroš Zupanc), IEC TC 14 and CIGRE A2 - Transformers and Chokes (Andrej Jurman, MSc and Borut Prašnikar, MSc) and IEC TC 10 and CIGRE D1 - New Materials and Testing Technologies (Tim Gradnik).
